Mahikeng, North West, South Africa – November 2024: The countdown has begun for the highly anticipated Mahika Mahikeng Festival, back for its seventh year to deliver an electrifying mix of music, culture, and unforgettable experiences. Building on the success of last year’s event, which attracted over 41,000 fans, this year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better.
Set to take place from 5th to 8th December at the iconic Mmabatho Stadium, Mahika Mahikeng is a celebration of the unique sound, heritage, and energy of Bokone Bophirima. The event showcases a dynamic blend of live music, comedy, food, and art, providing an authentic South African cultural experience.
“We are excited to welcome music lovers and culture enthusiasts back to Mahikeng for this special event,” said Shuping Sebolecwe, spokesperson for the Department of Arts, Culture, Sports, and Recreation. “This festival is the perfect start to the festive season, featuring top local performers who will set the stage for an incredible celebration.”
Mahika Mahikeng has become a hallmark event, not only for its stellar lineup but also for its impact on local tourism and the economy. The festival highlights the rich diversity of the North West, offering a platform for established artists and up-and-coming stars alike.

Festival Highlights:
- 5 December: Start your journey with a powerful gospel showcase featuring Bucy Radebe, Omega Khunou, David The King, and Thaba Ya Sione.
- 6 December: Get into the groove on Day 2 with the Amapiano Youth Festival, spotlighting Khuli Chana, DJ Tira, Fifi Cooper, Ntate Stunna, and more.
- 7 December: Day 3 is all about laughs, as the country’s top comedians take the stage, including Kay Bhazika, Karabo Selawu, Salesman, and Blaqu Jzus.
- 8 December: The grand finale features a star-studded lineup of legends like Lira, Zonke, Mafikizolo, Mandisi Dyantyi, Mi Casa, Vusi Nova, and the iconic Bongo Maffin.
