Here’s a revised and more engaging version of your press release for your blog:
With 11 top-class golf courses, the KZN South Coast proudly claims its title as ‘The Golf Coast’ and has hosted several major golfing tournaments. This year, from 4 to 6 September, San Lameer Estate will welcome the nation’s top golfing stars for the relaunched South African Women’s Masters.
A Legacy of Excellence
Established in 1996, the South African Women’s Masters is the third oldest and second most contested professional women’s golf tournament in South Africa, following the South African Women’s Open. Sanctioned by the Women’s PGA of South Africa, the tournament has seen legendary golfers take the title. The first champion was Sally Little, a two-time LPGA Major winner, and Olympian Ashleigh Buhai (née Simon) won as an amateur in 2006, just before turning professional.
Jenny Havenga of Lifestyle Golf highlighted the significance of bringing the tournament back to the KZN South Coast, a region known as the ‘Home of Women’s Golf’. The area hosted the SA Women’s Open from 2012 to 2017 and the SA Women’s Masters from 2018 to 2020. Sponsored by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, the Masters not only boosts tourism but also drives investment in the region.
“Relaunching this event on the lower KZN South Coast is exciting,” said Havenga. “The sponsors and promoters are committed to making this an annual showcase of the region’s property investment opportunities. With a year-round subtropical climate, the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in the province, excellent golf courses, and natural beauty, it’s the perfect location.”
An Unforgettable Golfing Experience
Golfers and spectators will enjoy the 18-hole championship course at San Lameer Estate, South Africa’s first golfing estate. Set within a 200-hectare nature conservancy, the estate features 620 luxury villas offering world-class accommodation. The tournament format includes a pre-tournament pro-am on Day 1, followed by a 2-day professional tournament.
Deborah Ludick, Acting CEO of South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE), expressed excitement about the event’s return to The Golf Coast. “As a key MICE destination with top golf courses, great accommodation, and plenty to see and do, hosting the Masters here is a natural fit. San Lameer Estate is a stunning setting, and we look forward to welcoming the country’s top golfers while encouraging spectators to explore the fantastic tourism offerings of the KZN South Coast.”
