Orlando Pirates are intensifying their efforts to sign Richards Bay forward Yanela Mbuthuma.

However, reports suggest the Buccaneers face challenges in securing the centre-forward before the current transfer window closes. Richards Bay, battling to stay out of the relegation zone, reportedly sees Mbuthuma as vital to their survival and is reluctant to let him leave mid-season.

“It’s unlikely that the player will move this January as Richards Bay has their own plans for him,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“He is central to the club’s fight against relegation, and they are not expected to entertain offers for him at this stage.”

Currently, Brandon Truter’s team sits just one point above the relegation zone and will look to their upcoming match against Magesi FC to strengthen their position.

Karim Kimvuidi Seeks New Opportunities

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates’ attacking midfielder Karim Kimvuidi is reportedly eyeing a move away from the club to secure more consistent game time.

The 22-year-old from DR Congo has struggled to cement a starting role in the Buccaneers’ star-studded squad. While Pirates are only open to a loan deal, Kimvuidi is said to prefer a move beyond the PSL, with several African clubs showing interest in his talent.
