With Donald Trump now in office, authorities have intensified efforts to address illegal immigration, targeting those who embarked on dangerous journeys in pursuit of the American dream. In a large-scale operation conducted just three days after the new administration’s inauguration, hundreds of undocumented migrants were apprehended and deported.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that U.S. authorities had detained 538 undocumented migrants, with hundreds subsequently deported using military aircraft.

“The Trump Administration detained 538 illegal immigrants, including a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and individuals convicted of sex crimes involving minors,” Leavitt stated in a social media post on Thursday. “Additionally, hundreds of these criminal illegal immigrants have already been deported using military aircraft. This marks the largest deportation operation in history. Promises made, promises kept,” she added.

The White House offered a “brief preview” of the administration’s efforts to enhance border security. It released a list of some individuals arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, detailing their crimes, which included rape, sexual misconduct involving minors, and repeated sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old.

Following his inauguration on January 20, President Trump signed several executive orders, including one titled “Protecting the American People Against Invasion.” This order pointed out that over the past four years, the U.S. had experienced a significant surge in illegal immigration, with millions crossing the border or entering via commercial flights and settling unlawfully within American communities in violation of federal laws.

The order emphasized that many of these undocumented individuals pose serious threats to public safety and national security, having committed grave offenses against innocent citizens.

On January 23, Congress approved a GOP-sponsored bill, the Laken Riley Act, which focuses on detaining and deporting undocumented migrants entering the country without authorization and charged with specific crimes.
