Delivery Ka Speed, an app-based service that delivers food from local vendors, fast-food chains, and retailers to township communities in Gauteng, Limpopo, and North West provinces, is set to expand to Mpumalanga starting in June. The name “Delivery Ka Speed” means “speedy delivery” in Sepitori.
Founded in 2021, Delivery Ka Speed aims to bring convenience to township consumers while offering gig work opportunities for unemployed youth. The goal is to help them earn a sustainable income and eventually own assets as drivers.
“Township roads are often unmapped and difficult to navigate, which affects the efficiency of goods delivery. We saw a market gap and decided to fill it by hiring locals who know their areas well,” says CEO and founder Godiragetse Mogajane.
So far, the company has created over 200 hyper-local jobs. Its strategy not only uplifts the communities it serves but also helps vendors reach more customers than before. To mark the Mpumalanga launch, Delivery Ka Speed will donate Telkom-sponsored routers with uncapped data and rechargeable light bulbs to three NGOs in the Kwamhlanga area. This initiative aims to help children continue their education during loadshedding. Additionally, 150 pairs of school shoes will be donated via these NGOs.
Delivery Ka Speed is supported by venture builder Aions Creative Technology, led by serial entrepreneur Mitchan Adams.
Customers can download the Delivery Ka Speed app from their preferred app store. Merchants and vendors interested in partnering can download the Delivery Ka Speed Merchant app, available on both iOS and Android. For more information, visit deliverykaspeed.com.
