BMW Group Financial Services South Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Rooden as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1 August 2024. Rooden succeeds Irene Koeppel, who held the position since November 2021 and has now returned to Germany after two decades of leadership roles within the BMW Group.
Rooden brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having built an extensive career that spans sales, organizational consultancy, risk management, and finance. His journey began at ING Bank and ING Car Lease before transitioning to the BMW Group when ING Car Lease was acquired by Alphabet, BMW Group Financial Services’ fleet management arm.
Over the years, Rooden has held key positions in various global markets, including serving as CFO of BMW Group Financial Services Japan, and most recently, as CFO of BMW Group Financial Services Sub-Region Northern Europe. He arrived in South Africa on 15 August to officially begin his tenure in person.
Upon his appointment, Rooden expressed his vision for the future: “I firmly believe that growth and profitability result from a combination of customer focus, operational excellence, and close collaboration – particularly between our National Sales Company (NSC), National Financial Services Company (NFSC), and our retail partners. In leading this talented and technologically savvy finance team, I aim to shape financing strategies and decisions for the future.”
